SUNCATCHERS

Pairpoint suncatchers are individually hand-pressed in a variety of colors and motifs.  Some are historic, some decorative, some in limited editions.  Each suncatcher is individually hand-pressed from moulds that are engraved by traditional methods, free hand directly in the steel, with hammer and chisel.  The individual variations between pieces are the hallmark of hand-pressed glass.  Bubbles and sheer marks are often caused by the process of hand gathering the glass, and re indigenous to nineteenth century production methods that re used today in producing Pairpoint suncatchers.  Combined they make each suncatcher a unique, one-of-a-kind collector’s item

The design for this suncatcher is copied from one of the hand carvings on our pulpit.  The whale is significant of the Biblical story of Jonah and the Whale and the city of New Bedford’s proud past as the whaling capital of the world.

These are available for sale through the office at a cost of $10.00 each.  Proceeds go to support St. Martin's Episcopal Church.
